The Best Pill Dispenser with Alarms. It’s lights up and is simple. It’s easy for mom to understand and it doesn’t shut up until she takes her meds :). And for me, if we have to take the meds to go, the small containers are easily put in my purse. Makes the Alzheimer’s journey a little easier. thank you!!

We were skeptical about this as a solution but decided to try it before escalating to more expensive personal care option. Since then, in 6 weeks she hasn’t missed a pill, so I’d say that’s a huge success. Way better than we expected.
We set it up for AM/PM alarms. The big red button that says “NEXT ALERT” also wasn’t obvious to her as the way to turn alarm off and set it up for the “next alert”, so I used the label maker to provide some basic instructions too. It’s worth noting that when the alarm goes off, it actually flashes a red LED light on the actual little pill compartment that’s supposed to be consumed. Alarm is loud enough to be annoying from an adjacent room but won’t wake the neighbors.

perfect pill dispenser

The perfect pill dispenser! Bought this for my mother, who had trouble remembering which day of the week it was. Can be set for medication taken once a day or twice a day. The pill box for the appropriate day lights up in red & the dispenser beeps until the pills are taken. Turning off the “beep” automatically sets the dispenser for the next scheduled time. As my mother is easily confused, once I set the schedule, I covered that portion of the unit’s buttons with paper & tape so that the only button exposed was the one she needed to press to turn off the “beep”. Setting the time/date schedule is a little tricky as you only have a few seconds to move from date to time to day of week, etc. If you hesitate, the unit goes back to default & you have to start all over again. Would suggest watching one of the Med Q pill dispenser videos on You Tube to help walk you through the scheduling set up. Once the schedule is set, this product can’t be beat. Dawn Drake

My Mom is suffering from the beginnings of Alzheimer’s and getting her to remember to take her pills each day was a headache for her (she hated feeling like she was nagged about it) and me (I hated nagging). Now, this amazing pill box does the “nagging” for us and my Mom laughs every time it “beeps and flashes” at her. But, since we’ve had it, she hasn’t missed a day of pills! It IS, as others have mentioned, a bit tricky to get set up but once it’s up and running, it’s great. The only other thing we did was to tape simple, explicit instructions to the bottom of it (coming out for the bottom so the pill box sits on top of the instructions) about how to turn it off (we acutally said “#1 – Take your pills. # 2 – Hit the Next Alarm button once to turn off) and we taped over everything but the “Next Alarm” button (otherwise it was a bit confusing for her). I totally recommend this for anyone with “forgetful” loved ones. Best money I ever spent!Connie Sierras
Useful to keep on track with meds

I bought this specifically because it lights up for the appropriate pill container to take. Twice I took my evening melatonin in the morning rather than my vitamins.
I struggled for some time and several attempts at getting the timing down + getting the correct box to light up, but the 5th or 6th time’s the charm, I guess, as it’s working great now. Don’t want to think about doing it again when the batteries die.
One improvement would be to increase the size of the pill boxes. I take 2 huge fish oil capsules each morning and night which doesn’t leave much room for vitamins or other pills.

I bought this for my husband as a Christmas gift. He is diabetic and takes some other meds both in the morning and evening. He works from home, and would often get busy and forget to take his pills. Now, he has the dispenser set and it beeps loudly enough that he can hear it from his office! The timers also assure he takes the medication at regular intervals. It’s small enough, and with the handy tote that came with it, we can take it when we travel. A great device and well worth the price!!!l

the dispenser works good and is fairly easy to set up but would be better if it had an on and off switch so i wouldn’t have to reset it if we were going away and have to take out the batteries to stop the alarm. NGH
